From Urban foraging/gardening, to bicycle mechanics and Spanish language instruction, this is a great way to get involved. If you have a class you would like to put together, please get in contact with us, there is plenty of time and space for more radically free education. We have planning meetings at Library Square every other Sunday at 2pm. The next meeting will be held on 5/20/2012, but feel free to get in contact with us before then if you have any other classes you would like to be added to the calendar. Solidarity begins with education.

We support a diversity of literary tactics, and so we'll be reading a variety of texts (fiction and non-fiction alike).

Food has been a central rallying point for community for thousands of years. It's only since the modern industrialization of agriculture that the production process has been left out of that community. Occupy Community Gardens seeks to reintroduce the priority of participating in the process of food production back into our culture. Through accessing space for community gardens in the neighborhoods we live in, we seek to create access to the process of food production focused on permaculture and sustainable, resilient community cuisine. Most importantly we seek to establish more vibrant and connected neighborhoods by the same process that initially helped create society, by coming together to grow food as a community. Get your neighbors together and find a local space, be it a front yard, that strip of land between the sidewalk and street, medians full of grass. We can help provide tools for the process as well as education on how to get it started and keep it maintained. Organize your neighborhoods for a more sustainable future. We are working together with Social Justice Gardens, local elementary schools, Transition Towns Salt Lake, Wasatch Community Gardens, One World Cafe, and any compassionate individual who would like to join us in our efforts to pull ourselves away from fossil fuel dependency within our food culture. Bring your ideas, bring your passions and let us start growing solutions today by way of growing both our communities and our gardens. less

We are committed to Direct Actions that will bring about incremental change, summing to a broad change for the betterment of the people.
We are committed to Transparency in our actions and planning. We understand that knowledge of our actions will be used in an attempt to undermine our Direct Action. We also understand the tactical advantage that surprise can provide, and commit to a narrow application of secrecy and security culture.
We will not be deterred by state, corporate, or private surveillance. We will not allow terror and intimidation to dictate our tactics. Transparency reduces the ability of our opponents to misrepresent or misconstrue our intentions, goals and actions.
We ask all those concerned with the world as it stands today to witness and record our actions, to spread our message to the world. Witness and record repression committed against us.
We are committed to Accountability. Our pursuit of Direct Action is an attempt to hold accountable those parties that are responsible for oppression, whomever those parties may be. We will not deny accountability of our own movement, and recognize that we must hold each other to these standards. less

They have reached out for support form Occupy Salt Lake for some actions on Sunday, as well as throughout the week. Our guests will be supporting the Prison Divestment Campaign on the 24th as well as an action on Wednessday around the screening of the film at the Broadway Center downtown. Please come discuss this exciting week of action and opportunity. less

Not for those with no spine or inability. I am creating this to expand the movement and bring new ideas/people etc, And also to help dispel the myth this is a liberal leftist movement as its about all of us Americans being equally screwed by the broken system.
Workgroup focused on planning actions directed at raising awareness and challenging how the American Legislative Exchange Council affects our political system.
